Project in Brief

  • Retail development
  • New B and M Store, JYSK and Sue Ryder units
  • Spacious and contemporary retail units

Deacon Road, Lincoln

The proposals aimed to utilise the form of the existing adjacent Lidl site to create the impression of a cohesive and identifiable retail park, with direct frontage opportunities from Outer Circle Road and Deacon Road. The project goal was to create spacious and contemporary retail units which provide retail opportunities to surrounding population and bring a former industrial site back into use.

The light and ‘natural’ colour of the masonry grounds the buildings in the proposed hard landscaping, whilst contrasting brick coursing complements the darker cladding at higher level and accentuates the scale of the development by providing a consistent sightline along its length.

The timber signage panels provide an animated and distinguishable entrance feature to each proposed unit and will further promote the retail parks unique identity. The proposed pallet of materials is not dissimilar from other retail developments in Lincoln and therefore the development is identifiable within the local vernacular.
