Project in Brief

  • Detail design of shopfronts
  • Sympathetic restoration
  • Existing shopfronts refurbished or replaced to re-establish traditional street scene

Cornhill Quarter, Lincoln

As part of a wider scheme to re-develop the Sincil Street/Cornhill Quarter of Lincoln, John Roberts Architects were employed to develop the detailed design for the shopfronts along Sincil Street. The scheme aims to connect the high street, Cornhill Quarter and the new Transport Hub including bus station and multi-storey car park to create a bright, attractive link for shoppers and visitors to Lincoln City Centre.

The existing building frontages have been retained and existing shopfronts refurbished or replaced to re-establish the traditional street scene. John Roberts Architects worked closely with the Contractor, Joiners and the rest of the project team to develop the technical details for the shopfronts and referred to historic photographs to ensure that the restoration was sympathetic to the rich history of the area.
